Alex's Portfolio and Bio
Alex Partridge, 19, is a photographer from South-East London focusing on social realism and documentary. In her street photography she documents the richness of street life with honesty and creative eye, finding the extraordinary in the ordinary, focusing on the individual human story within the bustling city. Connecting and engaging with her subjects is an important part of her process in which the camera is a tool for discovery in her anthropological investigation.
Alex is currently working on exploring the link between fashion and documentary photography in a series of studio portraits focusing on emphasizing the persona and individual style of the sitter. She is also in the final stages of completing her photographic ‘zine’ in collaboration with photographer, Chloe Greaves, containing images from London’s Brixton Splash and Notting Hill Carnival.

Within the categories of street photography, project or personal photography Alex is able to bring in an edgy energy with tasteful execution. There is a certain feeling of belonging when viewing her work mainly because it shows her personality as being a fun girl to be around. It is obvious that her subjects are very comfortable around her. Having this quality, which is very important in a photographer, I see Alex to be very successful at what she does.
