Renata's Portfolio and Bio

"My first passion is painting, I have been painting for many years but now photography is slowing
taking up more of my time. I work full time in the city of Melbourne, and most of my photography
takes place during lunch break and on weekends.

I think photography for me is a creative extension from my painting. I paint people,
simplistic, almost abstract images, so maybe the two go hand in hand. I became more and more
interested in photography through social media. Photography for me provokes thought,
emotion, creativity and wonder.

I photograph people as they fascinate me, I photograph whatever catches my eye,
I don’t particularly go looking for a photo, it appears in front of me. I get a certain buzz when the
right image presents itself. I hope my images provoke something in the people that view them."

Renata Filippi was born in Venice Italy, but have lived in Melbourne Australia, most of her life.

Why Renata?

It's safe to say that Renata's photography is in your face. No apologies.
I love the realness of her daily encounters with the strangers on the streets.
It's exceptional and fearless.
